  1. Where on earth did you find the Morgan Studios acetates/recordings?! The story must be told!

  2. O.K.let's roll. The supplier would like to remain anon being aware of the accusations/jealousies/recriminations that this kind of stuff generates. I'm allowed to say that it was found on a C90 cassette (manufacturer unknown.) The tape is a soundboard of Lou Reed and the Moogy Klingman Band on 1973.05.15. venue unknown at this moment in time. It begins with Sweet Jane which is suddenly cut and the "Berlin acetate" appears followed by I'm So Free. All on side A. Side B features the remainder of 1973.05.15. It's interesting to note that "Lady Day", "Men of Good Fortune" and "Caroline II" is not on the tape. Unfortunately I made a mistake as "Caroline II" is really "The Bed". Apologies. It's probably an audio grab at the Record Plant, NY before the final mixing. And in mono. I acquired two DVDs onto which had been tranferred the tape already segmented. My Uncut is an untouched grab. My Acetate is divided chapters ready for your edification. Lyoko has taken my Acetate and made it into an MP3. Naughty but c'est la vie.

    Tracklisting:

    1973.05.15:
    Sweet Jane (Cut)

    Berlin Acetate:
    Caroline Says I
How Do You Think It Feels
Looking Thru The Eyes Of Hate
    Oh Jim
    Birthday
    Berlin
    Berlin outro
    The Kids
    The Kids II
    The Bed
    The Bed II
    Sad Song

    1973.05.15:

    Walk On The Wild Side
    Rock And Roll
    Sister Ray

    1. Many thanks Sergeant. Could you please post the whole of the 1973.05.15 tape? It sounds better than the version that I have, and I don't have "Im so Free" on mine. I love the Moogy Klingman band shows!

  3. Excellent deduction. I'm late responding as I just got back from Africa. I'll dig into the crates. It should end up on "ArchiveVibes" if I ever get it together.

  5. Hello,

Thank you for this very much!

Also, can someone tell me what is the difference between for example "Road to Amsterdam" and "Rosso" version, are they " sonically the same? I've noticed that many Dawson recorded concerts have "Road to city" and some and some whacky name version. How are they different?

  7. This "8:PM" is really amazing. Made myself a cd starting with Sweet Jane from "late show". Wounder if Sweet Jane from RnRA comes from the "8:PM"? Also wounder if the first part of "8:PM"" exists. It feels a like "8:PM" is kind of final rehearsal before the RnRA is taped, Hunter/Wagner have more freedom. Wounder also how much they did in the studio before releasing RnRA. Read for example somewere that the part of the audience sound comes from a John Denver concert. That info made me sad. Can the details that I have in my brain since my youth be kind of fake? The soundboard of "8:PM" and "late show" feels really genuine, the holy grail of the Berlin tour. Only missing the first part of the "8:PM" now. Do you have any info about that part? Does it exist around?

  8. Thanks Sergeant! Apparently all the links still work! Thanks for that!
I'm a 64 year young and the Velvet and Lou Reed have always been some of my best musical memories. My older brother took me to hear Lou Reed in 1972 at the Bataclan in Paris. I was only 14 years old! I was also there at the Olympia in 74.
Thank you for all that you share! I really do!
